The Middle Tyger Area Chamber of Commerce, Town of Lyman, Spartanburg County School District Five, Mary Black Foundation, and community leaders worked together to create this wonderful public space. The bridge and sidewalk route now connects residents to:
- Community centers
- Local library
- Parks
- Restaurants
- Schools
- Shopping in Duncan, Lyman, and Wellford
- Trails
The ADA-accessible bridge at River Place Park in Lyman behind the Middle Tyger Library on Groce Road filled a much-needed gap in pedestrian connectivity. Runners from the nearby high school previously used the roadway bridge that had no sidewalk to get from one piece of sidewalk to the other. Folks now have a safe and beautiful place to cross the Tyger River in all its splendor!
